In many apartment situations with an existing audio or video system , the electric lock is directly powered from that system. Mixing an AC electric lock with an access control system that uses a universal 12Vdc supply, can be problematic. In those cases AC power supply and AC electric lock need to be replaced. This power convertor will solve this issue by taking in any DC or AC voltage between 16 to 28V and will output a 12Vdc voltage , up to 500mA.
